Embrace Your Inner Texan and Up Your Rodeo Fashion Game.
Tomorrow, as we've already noted, is the Fourth of July. And few things are more inherently American — or Texan — than the rodeo.
Let's face it: Rodeo-inspired gear gets a bad rap. And maybe rightfully so. Too often, it's gaudy and over-the-top. And, somehow, we wonder where all the Texas stereotypes thrown Dallas' way come from.
Here's the thing, though: It's who we are. There's no need to run from it. Really, we should embrace it. Because, as anyone who's tried it knows, there's just nothing else quite like downing some fried food, rocking a sweet pair of shit kickers and checking out a raucous bull riding competition.
It's high time we got over ourselves and embraced rodeo fashion.
Because it doesn't have to be so drab all the time. Do it right, actually, and it can look downright fabulous.
So we grabbed America's Next Top Model, Cycle 16, contestant Hannah Jones, made our way out to the Mesquite Rodeo and, y'know, just bucked around a bit to prove our point.
Yippee ki yay.
