Seryn Folks Things Up In Memphis Before Taking on Nashville.
MEMPHIS — Everyone should attend the International Folk Alliance at least once in their lives. It's a crazy experience. All of the rooms on the top three floors of a hotel in downtown Memphis all get booked by labels, agents, promoters, and food and beer and people from all over the world. The accents are awesome and our little Denton crew was charmed to pieces. The offers to play festivals from Sweden to Kerrville probably helped.
I gave the camera to the band last night. They did a video interview and, with love, we did photos for all the people at the convention for free. I think about half of these images were taken by Seryn. I took somewhere in the vicinity of two hours of video and met some of the most interesting people myself. The band had a great response from the folks who saw their set. Sure, the rooms were small and could only hold five to 20 people. But the vibe was great — and the performances kept going until 4 a.m.
Now it's off to Nashville. There, the band will play an in-store gig for Billy Reid.
