Boldly Go Where They're Showing Wrath Of Khan.
Though it might not be the most conventional night of the week for romance, Tuesday actually makes for a pretty cheap date night.
So take your beau to the DMA where admission will be free, then head over to All Good where the two of you will eat for the price of one. After that, you won't really mind paying full price for that movie at The Magnolia or the concert over at the House of Blues.
Big Movie: Wrath of Khan at The Magnolia
Yesterday officially marked the 30th anniversary of the first time audiences were exposed to an irate Captain James T. Kirk screaming “KHAAAAAAAAN!” at the top of his lungs. The film's memorable — and somewhat controversial — Spock death scene is frequently cited as one of the top moments in Star Trek history. By nerds mostly, but still.
Barcelona at Cambridge Room
The Barcelona performing at the House of Blues' Cambridge Room tonight is the piano-based Seattle band whose song “Please Don't Go” was featured in some Water For Elephants trailers a while back, not the nerdy late '90s new wave band from Virginia who seemed to sing about nothing but soccer and computers.
First Tuesdays at Dallas Museum of Art
Be a cheap date this afternoon and hit up the Dallas Museum of Art, where general admission is always free on the first Tuesday of every month. According to the DMA's website, they like to keep the museum at precisely at 72-degrees, which is pretty cool, pun very much intended.
Buy One Entree Get One Free at All Good Cafe
It always seems to slip our minds that All Good closes early on Mondays. That just makes us want it twice as bad on Tuesdays. Good thing they offer up two-for-one entrees tonight after 6 p.m..
