Well, This New Waco Water Slide Looks Incredible.
Chances are you've already seen the below clip. In the week since it got posted to YouTube, it's already earned more than 5.7 million views.
Still, we need to talk about it — mostly because, hold up, this shit is in Waco?!?!
For a guy like me who's never spent much time in Waco and whose whole mindset on the place was formed by Branch Dividians, biker gang brawls and the AllGood Cafe's cheeky “It's like going to Austin without having to go to Waco!” tagline, this video is pretty damn mind-blowing.
Crazy stuff — and not just because, seriously, who can remember the last time everyone they saw at a water park was actually in pretty decent shape? Surely, that's casting, right? Surely. Or, who knows, maybe that's just how things are at Waco's BSR Cable Park, which, as the name implies, offers more than just the above slide among its amenities, including zip-lining, a lazy river and cabins for overnight stays.
But let's stick to the slide itself, which you can enjoy on your own for a $15 day pass or as part of a larger package with lazy-riding riding included for $28.50 — after, a $10 cover charge to ge into BSR itself, it should be noted. Also worth noting: Despite what you see in the above clip, you'll also legally need to rock a life vest during your rides; you can either bring your own or rent one on-site.
Anyway, per this piece, the slide, which is called the Royal Flush, was built over the winter and completed in April, and it shoots its riders into a 15-foot-deep pool.
Not sure how high it'll shoot you, though. Obviously, that depends on which track you take and how fast you're going down the slide when you're launched. But, hey, let's all find out. I'm in if you are.
