This week's five most well-read stories are a nostalgic and optimistic batch.
• In one of the cooler bits of out-of-nowhere news we've heard in some time, it was revealed this week that area singer-songwriter Sarah Jaffe helped inspire the upcoming Pixar short set to open up Monsters University this summer. loves Pixar, right? Crazy cool.
• New year, new you? Seems everyone's in the mood to try a little something new these days. Might as well make some changes in your dating life then, right? Our five dating resolutions for singles in 2013 were here to help you kickstart that action this week.
• Perhaps the biggest — and dare we say most awesome — trend of 2012 in Dallas was the influx of kickass music festivals taking root in the region. This week, we got all nostalgic and looked back at our 10 favorites. They were the best of times, they were the best of times.
• We also took a look back at our 35 favorite concerts of '12 this week. Our top choice — an all-local lineup — might surprise you. But it wouldn't if you were in attendance that amazing night.
• We weren't the only ones looking back all dusty-eyed at 2012 this week, either. We also got some local celebrities to tell us their favorite albums from the last year. Dallas has good taste, y'all.
