Ghostbar Is Open Again, Except Now It's Called Altitude Lounge.
Hey, remember a few years ago when Ghostbar closed rather suddenly and only a few weeks after celebrating its six-year anniversary?
No? OK, well, here's what we wrote about that back when the news first broke.
Since that closure, the old club spot up on the 33rd floor of the W Hotel in Victory Park has been used rather intermittently. Every now and then, it's been employed as a one-off event space for corporations looking to make a big splash (like, say, Red Bull). But, for the most part, it's existed as a wedding venue. Or, in other words, the club — noted for the fact that its patio rather understandably boasts one of the better views of the Downtown skyline around — had become a rental space.
But that seems to be changing: Last night, the spot — now known as Altitude Lounge — once again opened its doors up to the party-going public, courtesy of a new, every-other-Thursday-night party thrown by the people behind PartyChaser.com. Their next bash will go down on Thursday, August 14.
No word yet on what this means for other affairs potentially being hosted in the space, but we'll keep an eye on it.
In the meantime, do with this information what you will.
