Dave Chappelle Is Coming Back to Dallas. And He's Bringing An Incredible Roster With Him.
Exactly one year ago today, Dave Chappelle threw Dallas into a veritable tizzy when, late on a Sunday night, he announced a last-minute show set to go down at the House of Blues the very next day. It was a whirlwind announcement and, really, a whirlwind moment overall — one that Dallasites aren't likely to forget for a long, long time.
And though in many ways today's new announcement out of Chappelle's camp can't even come close to matching the immediate gravitas of that last one, it does indeed boast a certain level of undoubted awesomeness.
Today, Funny or Die announced that it has tapped Chappelle to headline a nationwide comedy tour being billed as the Oddball Comedy Festival. And Chappelle's bringing along a whole cast of comedy heavyweights along for the ride, too: Flight of the Conchords, Al Madrigal, Chris D'elia, Demetri Martin, Hannibal Burress, Jim Jeffries, John Mulaney and Kristin Schaal will all perform as part of the 13-city tour.
Dallas will get its taste early on in the run, too, with the affair coming to town on Sunday, August 25, at Gexa Energy Pavilion. No word yet on ticket costs, but sales will begin this Friday at this link.
And, listen, if it's anything like the last time Chappelle came through, you're going to want to be there. And then maybe at Sfuzzi's afterwards, too.
