Scenes From Last Night's Turbo Fruits Show at Lola's in Fort Worth.
Last night's Turbo Fruits, Sealion and War Party show at Lola's in Fort Worth had a few things going against it — like, first and foremost, the fact that it fell on a Monday night after a jam-packed weekend of shows.
Still, those that made it out to the show were in for a treat — and not just due to the fact that the ever-energetic Turbo Fruits out of Nashville had an even beefier sound this time around thanks to the addition of a fourth touring member.
Less than a show, last night's affair mostly felt like a hangout session with a bunch of friends who just happened to play music. In that regard, it was a supportive showing, as Sealion stood up front to cheer on War Party and vice versa, and with both bands — plus a member of their area garage- and punk-inclined compatriots — joining forces to due the same during Turbo Fruits' set.
Sonically, it was a night filled with riffs and cymbal crashes. But underneath that noise, you could feel the camaraderie.
Felt pretty great, actually. Seems Mondays don't have to suck, turns out.
