Last Night At The Bomb Factory, Gogol Bordello and Antemasque United For a Rip-Roaring Good Time.
We've said it before and we'll surely say it again: If there's one thing that those big Austin music festivals are good for, it's the fact that Dallas scores big gains through those events' runoffs.
No need to cite specific examples here, I don't think. This is old, old news at this point.
And yet its benefits continue to be fresh. Take, for instance, Transmission Events' inspired pairing of Gogol Bordello and Antemasque at the Bomb Factory last night. In addition to booking those acts to this weekend's Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Transmission was able to slot Gogol Bordello in for this Sunday night tour stop on its way out of Texas and toss the latest collaborative effort from At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta's Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala — with Blink-182's Travis Barker on drums this time around, no less — on as one-off main support.
Y'know, as if the first show in town in years from the noted gypsy punks in Gogol Bordello wasn't enough.
Yes, it was quite the treat. Lucky us, then, that our own Karlo X. Ramos was on hand to capture the revelry in photographs meant for your viewing pleasure. Check out a selection of his grabs below.
