Get The Jump On Your 4/28 – 5/4 Plans.
Here's something you might not have previously known: There exists a subset of folks in town who are hoping to re-brand Cinco de Mayo into every bit the drinking holiday that St. Patrick's Day has become in Dallas.
But, whereas ground zero for that Irish-inclined celebration is the Lower Greenville area, it looks like Downtown will be the epicenter for this weekend's Cinco parties as the folks behind El Fenix throw their first-ever block with the hopes that, over the next few years, it grows into every bit of the binge-fest St. Patty's is today.
Really, it's not that far-fetched of an idea.
Think about it: Margaritas trump shitty green beer all day, and there are way more Hispanic folks living in town than there are Irish ones.
Hey, it could happen. That's all we're saying.
