Try to Employ a Freelance Whale Tonight at Trees.
Tonight's a surprisingly good night for concerts.
You can choose between Milo Greene at La Grange, Freelance Whales at Trees or Bombay Bicycle Club at Granada.
Or you can check out the classic movie Dazed and Confused at Sundown. And that movie has a good soundtrack, let's be honest.
Milo Greene at La Grange
Surprisingly, nobody in Milo Greene is named “Milo.” This indie folk group is undoubtedly full of tricksters, including a Robbie, a Graham, an Andrew, a Curtis and a Marlana. Like I said, no Milo.
Bombay Bicycle Club at Granada
Last year's A Different Kind of Fix was one of those omnipresent albums that definitely solidified Bombay Bicycle Club's status as one of the more popular indie rock bands of the past few years. Their cutesy, twee records are definitely a hit with the younger teen set, so that's who you'll probably be seeing at the show tonight.
Freelance Whales at Trees
Do you like cotton candy? Puppies? Rainbows? Freelance Whales is like all of those things rolled up together into a bag of indie-pop sunshine. If the thought of that doesn't make you want to gag, clap your hands together and yell “I do believe in fairies!”
Dazed and Confused at the Sundown
Pretty much everyone has seen this movie, which, on the plus side, makes it infinitely more quotable. The cast is a who's who of “Oh, right, I forgot he/she was in that!” including Parker Posey, Milla Jovovich, Ben Affleck, Jason London and Matthew McConaughey.
