Make It An Event with Deltron 3030.
There are two types of people in this world: those who meticulously plan and those who choose to improvise.
Being that you clicked on a post specifically designed to help you plan your evening, we're guessing you fall squarely into the first camp. Sometimes it's good to take a page from the improviser's book, though: Take this Hawaiian man, for instance, who helped stop his house from burning down by dousing the flames with a pot of miso soup.
So, that said, if any of your plans don't work out tonight, don't be afraid to mix it up and maybe just see where the night ends up taking you.
Deltron 3030 at Trees
Back in September, the hip-hop supergroup Del the Funkee Homosapien, Kid Koala and Dan the Automator released their long-coming sophomore effort, Event 2, which serves as a narrative sequel to 2000's self-titled debut. And, despite the 13-year gap, these two companion pieces don't sound all that disjointed. Maybe that's because the trio began working on The Event in 2004, and had completed a significant portion of the disc by 2006. Meaning? They've retained much of their classic hip-hop charm. — CG
Cher at American Airlines Center
Say what you will about the Burlesque star's acting career or her post-“If I Could Turn Back Time” musical output, but Cher remains a living legend. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo also perform. “Believe” that. — Cory Graves
Wondercrust Presents: Karate Warriors at The Grotto (Free)
The Fort Worth-based b-movie lampooning club will riff on Sonny Chiba's 1976 grindhouse martial arts flick tonight. Funky Town rockers Panic Volcanic also perform. — CG
Kenny Uptain, Sam Anderson, Matt Mabe at The Barley House
At this one, Kenny Uptain of Fort Worth's Foxtrot Uniform will share this Dallas stage with Quaker City Night Hawks members Sam Anderson and Matt Mabe. — CG
