Psych Out With Ringo Deathstarr.
As with most evenings here in North Texas, there's plenty going on tonight.
As for what you end up doing? We don't really care. Why not? Because you really can't go wrong, tonight — unless, that is, you hit someone.
No, you just can't do that — no matter how badly you want waffles, more booze, a better parking spot or a better place in line for the bathroom.
Keep your hands to yourself, y'all.
Ringo Deathstarr, Blackstone Rangers and Midnight Masses at Rubber Gloves
Austin psych-gaze outfit Ringo Deathstarr returns to Denton on the back of its March-released LP God's Dream, which you can stream here. Rounding out this rather impressive midweek bill is Dallas' Blackstone Rangers and Austin's Midnight Masses, the latter of which features Jason Reece and Autry Fulbright from …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead. — Ashley Gongora
My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult at Trees
Keeping with its '70s and '80s vibe, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult summons a tour of sex, blasphemy… and dancing at this one. Oh, and Satan. The band's still real big into him. So, yeah, if you're down with The Prince of Darkness, then this one is for you. Yup, these guys like the horror stuff. They even recently released a new album called Spooky Tricks. — AG
Cozy Hawks, Sour Boy, Bitter Girl and Danny Diamonds at Dan's Silverleaf
Thus far, the undeniably catchy Denton pop-rock outfit Cozy Hawks has released a pair of singles from its upcoming sophomore LP, Pan Pacific, which you can stream here and here. They're solid efforts we say — and, certainly, that bodes well for this gig. Fort Collins pop-rockers Sour Boy, Bitter Girl open along with Danny Diamonds (read: the artist formerly known as Danny Rush). — Cory Graves
Dovetail, Cody Jasper and Rise & Shine at Gas Monkey Bar & Grill (Free)
If you don't mind seeing shows at a venue owned by a bunch of guys from a reality television show, know this: Gas Monkey Bar & Grill actually has several quality bookings lined up for later this summer. Give the place a test drive tonight with a free show featuring roots rock-leaning locals Dovetail, Cody Jasper and Rise & Shine. — CG
Robert DeLong and Mike Relm at the House of Blues
Electronic musician Robert DeLong will be banging his drums — and presumably other things, too — tonight at the House Blues. Don't sleep on opener Mike Relm, though. The DJ has gained quite the following in the film world thanks to his YouTube remixes. Check out his videos here. And, trust us, this is one dance party you don't want to miss. — Chase Whale
