Get Thunderstruck at the House of Blues.

As a born and raised Mavericks fan, I was programmed hate the San Antonio Spurs. And yet at the same time, as a human being, I just can't force myself to root for the Miami Heat.

So, like much of the rest of Mavs Nations, there I was last night, cheering on the Spurs in Game Six of the NBA Finals. And for what? In what was admittedly a thrilling game, our fellow Texans lost in overtime, giving the Heat one more chance to win the whole shebang in Thursday's Game Seven.

As we impatiently wait that game's start so we can root on our fellow Texans — difficult a pill as that may be to swallow — here are some distractions for your night.

Oh, and happy Juneteenth!

Black Problems, Bug Chaser, Mountain of Smoke, Spacebeach and Eyes Wings & Many Other Things at the Crown & Harp
Hip-hop act Black Problems, St. Louis rockers Bug Chaser and local psychedelic outfit Eyes Wings & Many Other Things should be the highlights of what promises to be a moody and experimental show at The Crown & Harp. Also, it's free. So there's that. — Stephen Young

Vintage Pop-Up Shop at Beauty Bars
Martinis? Yes. Manicures? Absolutely. Happy hour? Duh. This is Beauty Bar. It's kinda the whole concept. But then add to the equation this: Vintage accessories and swimwear will also be for sale at the Henderson Avenue spot during today's 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. pop-up affair. And nothing will cost more than $75. In other words? This sucker's not only adorable, it's affordable. Honestly, what else could a girl want in the middle of a busy work week? —Jessica Petrocchi

The Fibs, Sphynx and The Royalty at Lola's
This glam-filled, all-Texas bill features locals The Fibs, Austin dance-funk act Sphynx and El Paso’s The Royalty, who say they sound “like Amy Winehouse went on holiday with Vampire Weekend.” Put on your dancing shoes and head west for a bit of midweek fun. —SY

Fever Dreams, Vaults of Zin, Orgullo Primitivo and Kallohonka at Rubber Gloves
Utah crust punks Fever Dreams — not to be confused with local indie act Fever Dreamer — tops this evening's punk-filled bill in Denton. Texas acts Vaults of Zin, Orgullo Primitivo and Kallohonka open. —SY
