Viva Mexico.
Over the long weekend, a man flew to Chicago for a bachelor party with his bros. Just one problem, all of his pals' flights were cancelled, leaving him to go it all alone in a big strange city.
Sure, he tried to make the most of it, doing as many of his party's planned activities as he could sans, well, his party, but he also spent a lot of time on Tinder and other sites looking for things to do and places to go. If only there were a website in the Windy City that compiled all that sort of info in one convenient place.
Well, not only is Dallas windier than Chi-town, but we'd never leave you hanging like that, either.
High Fidelity: Through the Lens at Off the Record (Free)
Attempting to fill the shoes of the inimitable Vanessa Quilantan this evening will be our fearless leader, Pete Freedman, who has been asked by Off the Record to moderate a panel discussion featuring some of Dallas' best concert photographers. Among them will be Dallas Morning News contributor Jason Janik, Live Nation photographer Joel Winburne, and Karlo X. Ramos, Kathy Tran and Mike Brooks, each of whom has previously contributed to this site, among other outlets around town. They'll each have works available for purchase as well.
Hollywood Undead at House of Blues
Yeah, if we were still in a rap-rock band in 2015, we'd wear hockey masks onstage and adopt pseudonyms too.
Ice Cream Social: The Ultimate Adult Soda Fountain at Remedy
Equal parts culinary lesson and pig-out sesh, Remedy's executive chef Danyele McPherson and mixologist Mate Hartai will help you craft the perfect highballs, cocktails and ice cream sundaes. Then, of course, you eat. And mingle. And eat some more.
Adventures in Babysitting w/ Keith Coogan at Alamo Drafthouse
Before starring in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Keith Coogan was making babysitting look way more awesome than real life in 1987's Adventures in Babysitting. He'll be doing a Q&A at this screening, where you can ask him about these and his other non-childcare-related roles, too, presumably.
Mexico vs Argentina at AT&T Stadium
Before Paul Aguilar and the Mexico squad take on the United States in the CONCACAF Cup playoff on October 10, the team — minus Aguilar, who returned to Mexico following a thigh injury Sunday night — will take on Argentina in a friendly on a patch of netural turf that, just so happens, to be in our own backyard.
