Blast Your Ear Drums with Sleigh Bells.

A glass of water on a table ripples every few seconds from a steady pounding that covers Dallas. One might think it's from the stomping of the animatronic dinosaurs in McKinney, but, alas, no, it is actually reverberations radiating from House of Blues this evening as Sleigh Bells destroys yet another set of amps — Lord knows how many it's been this month. Today is a good day to get loud at the House of Blues, for sure. But, if that's not your speed, you could always check out Father John Misty's quieter affair inside the same building.

Father John Misty at Cambridge Room
Former Fleet Foxes drummer and indie-folk singer Joshua Tillman, who goes on stage by the name of Father John Misty, will be playing at the House of Blues's Cambridge Room tonight with La Sera and Jeffertitti's Nile. Tillman is sure to evoke a lot of emotion with his quieter sound. Doors at 8 p.m.

Sleigh Bells at House of Blues
Also at the House of Blues tonight? The human speaker-smashing duo, Sleigh Bells (with AraabMuzik!) The group is known for their sing-a-long lyrics and tremendously loud guitar screams. Maybe consider earplugs for this one. Doors at 7:30 p.m.

Lower Dens at Dada
Friend of the program and Arlington-sprung musician Jana Hunter brings her Lowe Dens band and their freak-folkin' ways back to Dallas tonight. Doors at 7.

The Heard Museum's Animatronic Dinosaur Exhibition
The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary of McKinney is basically Jurassic Park right now. The museum is currently having a display of giant (and smaller) animatronic dinosaurs, and it's both family-friendly and educational. It even has a 46-foot-tall T-Rex. If you have some children to entertain — or you just wish to vicariously live in the Jurassic period — you should definitely check this out.
