Vote Black Moth Super Rainbow For President!
Today's the day that the 2012 Obama-Romney smackdown comes to its close. Yes, that's right: After months and months of campaigning, a victor will be selected tonight by the American public. And, make no mistake, you're a part of that public!
Congratulations on that, by the way.
Maybe celebrate your involvement in a turning point in American tonight by doing something fun? There's that Black Moth Super Rainbow show over at The Loft, for starers. Or you can always take in a nice (and don't forget free!) outing at the DMA.
There's lots to do, that's all I'm saying. Oh, and if you haven't yet already done so, seriously: Get out there and vote.
Black Moth Super Rainbow at The Loft
Acid-trip psychedelic synth-pop group Black Moth Super Rainbow recently put out a new album after a three-year hiatus, and they're thus making a tour stop here in Dallas to promote it. Expect a lot of fun and a lot of weirdness at this show. Doors at 8 p.m.
Rahr Autumn Beer Dinner at Capitol Pub
Attention beer and food fans alike: Tonight, Capitol Pub offers a pretty sweet deal; for $35 per person, you get five small plates of food paired with five exclusive beers from the Rahr Brewing Company.
D's Election Night Live at Granada Theater
While musical guests Burning Hotels, AiR DeeJay and Paris Vidal perform, a live feed of election results and an uncensored Twitter fall will be presented on theater's big screens. Tickets are $5 a pop and the event starts at 8:30 p.m.
Free Tuesday at the DMA
Here's another chance for a cool free date with the possible love of your life. Impress the man/woman in your life with a day of art — totally free of charge. Remember: Every first Tuesday of each month is free at the DMA.
Everclear at Trees
Your favorite '90s alt-rockers Everclear perform tonight at Trees with turn-of-the-millennium rockers Eve 6. Oh, quit acting so cool. You know you love Everclear's Sparkle and Fade and So Much For The Afterglow. Doors open at 7 p.m..
Oral Fixation at McKinney Avenue Contemporary
Another round of Dallas's own live storytelling performances go down tonight, this time all centered around the theme of “Baby Steps.” Gather 'round the campfire (spoiler: no actual fires are allowed at this event) and get ready for some talks! Doors are at 7:30 p.m.
