Funk It Up.
We're now a few hours into 2015, so we suspect you're already pretty tired of hearing about everyone's New Year's resolutions.
With that in mind, we won't even bother asking about what sweeping changes you're going to make heading into this new year. Nor will we even make a half-hearted joke about resolving to stop making resolutions.
Far as we're concerned, go ahead an eat all the unhealthy junk you want to. Drink as much as you can, too. Never exercise again. It makes no difference to us.
If we were to make one suggestion, though, it might be to consider leaving the house more this year, y'know — if you want to. And to that end, here's some places you can start. We'll see you out there.
Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium
Last month,we wondered which Big 12 school would be playing in the first college playoff. We weren't sure if it would be one-loss Baylor or one-loss TCU. But it was a foregone conclusion in our minds that one of the two would be getting in. Welp, here we are, and both programs find themselves out in the cold. In this case, Baylor takes on the 10-2 Michigan State Spartans in the 79th Cotton Bowl Classic today.
DaM-FunK at Dada
Tonight, let the Los Angeles-based, Stones Throw Records-signed D and producer DaM-FunK guide you through your first dance party of the new year. Before you head out tonight, though, let's just get one thing straight: His name's pronounced like “dame,” not “dam.” Anyway, Ronnie Heart and JT Donaldson open.
Hangover 100K at 7-Eleven (Ross and Griffin)
You resolved to get into better shape this year, eh? Well, you're not going to wimp out already are you, just hours into the New Year? This 60-mile bike ride departs from 7-Eleven promptly at 9:30 a.m. You've got this.
Hangover Classic at Gateway Disc Golf
For a slightly less strenuous method of kick-starting your healthier New Year than biking a frigid 100K, head over to Fort Worth for the 8th annual disc golf tournament. It's OK. Just ease into it.
