Remember the Old Days with Kristy Kruger.
Apparently the world is ending tomorrow. TOMORROW!
Weird thing about that, though. There don't seem to be many people on the streets panicking about it. Are they not worried? Their entire existences are set to come to a complete and finite stop in 48 hours or so!
Maybe they're all inside, spending quality time with loved ones. Me, I would imagine that the end of the world would look a lot more like what happened in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World — y'know, with all the riots and fires and all that.
But, hey, spend time with your family if you want. Or do these cool things with your rapidly shrinking amount of time instead.
Weld Show at Weld
Take the chance to support local art tonight! Dallas co-op space and artist collective Weld will be hosting their first-ever show tonight in the Design District. Consisting of work from around 60 of the co-op's members, you can expect a lot of work to be on display at this one. (We imagine some of it can be taken home, too.)
The Demigs at Sundown at Granada
Tonight is a good night for free Dallas fun, huh? Here's another option: Local Denton band The Demigs will be at the Sundown at Granada tonight, playing a free show. That's a better free date than a walk in the park, right?
DISCIPLINE at Rubber Gloves
Everyone put your vinyl copy of Grimes' Visions down for two seconds and have someone else DJ your night with electro-goth tonight instead. Rubber Gloves promises a night filled with your favorite darkwave/nuwave/nowave/noise/whatever-the-fuck tonight. Oh, and cheap drinks to boot.
Kristy Kruger at Opening Bell Coffee
This American Life-approved singer-songwriter Kristy Kruger is back home in Dallas after a tour, performing in her comfortable, familiar confines at Opening Bell Coffee, sounding all old-timey as she tends to.
Adult Crawl Night in the Window Tubes at Neiman Marcus
For a $20 donation, you will get to do the following in the O.G. Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas:
• donate to people in need.
• look like a child in a McDonald's playground.
• have everyone look at you looking like a child in a McDonald's playground.
I mean, who could ask for more?
