Nerd Out With Chris Hardwick and Catch a Live Podcast at South Side Music Hall.

It's been a busy week, and it's been hotter than ever — at least according to my hands when I touch the steering wheel of my car.

(Shout-out to non-garage owners!)

But what's the point of letting the weather get the best of you? Conquer the outdoors today with the second anniversary of the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market.

Nerdist Podcast Live with Chris Hardwick, Jonah Ray and Matt Mire at South Side Music Hall
The popular Nerdist Podcast will come to us from a live panel tonight at the South Side Music Hall. G4's Chris Hardwick hosts, and he'll be bringing along guests Jonah Ray and Matt Mira.

Assassination City Roller Derby
If I ever hear anyone say that women aren't tough, I delicately point them in the direction of the nearest roller derby, where injuries abound and punches fly. Tonight, the Bombshell Brigade competes against the Lone Star Assassins. In other news, I will be forcing people to look at my splinter that is way more painful than it looks.

Chicago and Doobie Brothers at Gexa Energy Pavilion
I've always lumped Chicago and the Doobie Brothers into the “dad band” category, which is my term for music that the “cool dads” listen to. But between the two of them (hell, even with just one of them), the album sales are enormous. So it would seem that there are a lot more cool dads (and moms) than I thought.

Deep Ellum Market Anniversary
Today's the second anniversary of the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market, which is definitely not your run-of-the-mill market. To celebrate, there will be music and nice variety of food trucks. The best part, though, is that it doesn't have to end at 10 pm. After the marker, head on in to Club Dada for more music, free beer (while it lasts) and art auctions.

DEOM Deep Night Dance Party at theSpace
OK, so you went to the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market, went to the after party at Club Dada, and now you still have some energy. Lucky for you, theSpace is hosting the Deep Night Dance Party, an after-after-party where you can dance to songs — that you requested (it is rare to be able to do this) — until 3:30 am. Oh, and there's free pancakes.

The Black Dotz, New Fumes and Peopleodian at Bryan Street Tavern
If the thought of nostalgically watching Chicago and Doobie Brothers tonight does not appeal to you, locals Black Dotz, New Fumes and Peopleodian performing at Bryan Street makes for a great (and decidedly more high-energy) alternative.
