Embrace Your Inner Nerd and Enjoy A Cheap Date Night.

Can we be a little honest with you for a second? I mean we are friends, right? We've seen you at the pool lately, and, let's face it, you could stand to work out a little more and maybe drink a little less. Hey, it's just a suggestion. If you hit up Ruby Room's burlesque for beginners class at least it won't feel like such a drag.

Other than that, might we suggest one of the cheapest and nerdiest date nights ever tonight? It starts out at Barcadia, where you can regale your date with your knowledge of the eight main differences between Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man while enjoying discounted noms. Then you'll head to the pub quiz over at Texas Theatre where you and your date can continue to impress each other with your obscure trivia knowledge — hopefully enough so to pick up a free bar tab. And, if you come up short, you can always end the night over at The Libertine where you'll enjoy more drink specials, because, of course, you have been dressed in prom attire all along.

It sounds a little cheesy, but the warm glow of vintage '80s stand-up arcade consoles really does create a soothing atmosphere in which to enjoy that half-priced bar food.

Fancy Monday at Libertine
Sometimes we like to show up to The Libertine on Mondays dressed full on in the garb of a Victorian-era nobleman. Then, when anybody mentions that it is fancy Monday, we claim we had no idea. The confused looks on their faces are worth even more than the discounted drinks.

Who couldn't benefit from being a little more active from time to time? Learn the basics of the bumping and grinding burlesque movements at 9 p.m. tonight with Ginger Valentine at the Ruby Room Studio. It's one of the few workouts where you wear heels.

Geeks Who Drink pub quiz at Texas Theatre
According to quizmaster George Quartz's weekly blog, the rivalries are getting pretty heated between Geeks Who Drink regulars like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Nerdles and Hawaii Five-Oh Face. Newbies are of course welcome to compete for the free bar tabs.
