Beat The Heat at Cool Out.
Heads up for everybody who still has little too much money laying around after the weekend: You can now buy a $100 golden virtual joint on Snoop Lion's virtual photo sticker app, Snoopify.
That's right: For an amount that would easily buy you a couple of grams of real weed, you can have the fanciest of all accessories for all your delightful Instagrams.
Somehow, 15 of the things have already been sold so far.
Since you've shown enough restraint to avoid becoming number 16, why not spend a little bit of that extra scratch at one of the following places tonight. then? What are you trying to prove?
Denton Movie City at Dan's Silverleaf
The five short films appearing in tonight's mini-film fest were each created or co-created by Thin Line Film Fest “Denton Doc” award-winner Chad Withers. Moreover, each was inspired by and/or stars prominent figures from Denton's music scene. The main attraction, for instance, is a 24-minute film co-written by Shiny Around the Edges' Jenny Seman, which features members of Midnite Society, Violent Squid, Deep Throat, Orange Coax, Pocket Change and her own band, among others. — Cory Graves
Pups and Pies at Cane Rosso
The name Cane Rosso — Italian for “red dog” — is a reference to owner Jay Jerrier's onetime pet Hungarian pointer, Zoli. So loved was the dog that Jerrier named his newest pizza chain after the pooch, too. It's not surprising, then, that Cane Rosso with their dog-friendly patio, would hold a benefit for local rescue groups like Rescue Me. A $10 donation to the group tonight will get you a pair of raffle tickets, a glass of beer or wine and special deals on select pies. There will also be some adorable, adoptable pups looking for a forever home out on the patio to play with you. — Jessica Petrocchi
Cool Out at The Crown & Harp
The club may have a new name, but to the crowds of service industry folks and dancefloor junkies who've been flocking to DJs Tony Schwa's Monday night offerings since circa 2007, not much else has changed. Since returning to its original location, this weekly dance party has been thriving more now than ever. — CG
