Celebrate Sister’s Album Release At Three Links, Jump Around With Bubble Boys At Armoury D.E. And Show Off Your Flows At Expo Bar’s Freestyle Competition.
Oksana Zaharov of Edgewater, NJ may be 2018’s luckiest person so far.
On Tuesday, during a routine trip to the convenience store to buy a $1 New York Lottery scratch-off, the cashier accidentally charged her for a $10 “Set For Life” ticket. Zaharov, wanting to be nice, decided to pay the $10.
Maybe it was just her day, or maybe it was karma rewarding her for not wanting to get the cashier in any kind of trouble, but Zaharov ended up winning a $5 million jackpot, indeed setting herself up for life — you know, as long as she uses her money wisely.
So keep Zaharov’s lucky break in mind as you head out to one of the following happenings around town tonight. Who knows, maybe you’ll have a chance to do something nice for someone and you’ll get a luck break in one way or another.
Sister Album Release at Three Links
The Texas soul will be celebrating the release of its newest album Spiraling Minds. The band’s sound is one that blends blues, rock and hints of country with harmonic vocals provided by leading ladies Amanda Page and Haylee Ryan. Michael Lee & The Wartime Limousine will open the show.
Metal Thursdays at BrainDead Brewing
Sip on some of the finest craft brews that Dallas has to offer while you listen to heavy metal riffs provided by Texan metal outfits Escuela and Enlist.
Bubble Boys, Talkie Walkie, War Party at Armoury D.E.
Orlando’s own Bubble Boys will headline this free show. The Florida trio will be bringing its brand of garage punk/fuzzy rock to the stage at Armoury along with locals Talkie Walkie and War Party.
The Venetian Sailors at The Common Table
The poppy, soulful local band will switch it up just a tad tonight when it plays an acoustic set. The band will likely be playing tunes from its latest LP La La Language, which you can listen to right here.
Pinkish Black at Renos Chop Shop
The dour experimental rock with resonant soundscapes of this homegrown act has earned critical acclaim far and wide for its combination of melody and heaviness. See for yourself tonight if it merits the hype. (It does.) Sabbath Assembly and Baring Teeth open. — Alex Copeland

Five bucks gets you registered to show off how quick you are on the freestyle draw. Otherwise, there’s no cover. But if you do sign up — and you win — you take the cash home. Hell, for $5 it’s worth a go.
