Over the last few weeks — up until the very last day of 2015, in fact — we gradually unveiled our 100 favorite local songs of the past year, at first in large chunks, and finally on a one-at-a-time basis. It made for a fun little game of suspense, but we’ll be the first to admit that the format we presented those tracks in doesn’t necessarily lend itself to going back and streaming all those killer tracks very easily.
And, really, isn’t that the whole point of this exercise? Y’know, to go back and attempt to better appreciate the wealth of talent churning out quality music in our own backyard? We think so, anyway, which is why we’ve gone and done you a solid here and reformatted the whole thing to facilitate a simpler listening experience.
We should also remind you that, for the top 25 tunes, we added some additional insights along the way, including somewhat longer profiles for each of the top 15 artists. You can still find links to each of those pieces, which better explain how they earned their spots on the list, at the bottom of this post.
