Polyphonic Spree Announce Annual Holiday Show, Plus a Rocky Horror Covers Gig in London.
Almost exactly a month ago, you may recall, we passed along word that Dallas' own Polyphonic Spree was finally getting to work on a Christmas record — a record seemingly a long time coming, what with the band throwing its annual holiday-themed extravaganza each year and all.
Now we can somewhat pinpoint a release date for that disc: Quietly, the band recently announced the date for its tenth such holiday affair, which this year will take place on Saturday, December 22 at the Lakewood Theater. Get your tickets (available for 35 bones) here, and rest easy knowing that the band's bound to be releasing it's holiday album around that time as well.
Speaking of holiday-themed affairs, though, here's another cool Spree-related note: The band will be heading to London this Halloween to perform a full set of Rocky Horror Picture Show covers at the HMV Forum.
If we cross our fingers hard enough, maybe we can get a repeat performance in Dallas? let's hope.
The good news, I guess, is that we shouldn't miss this performance too much, as Dallas already has a pretty slammed Halloween concert schedule, with scheduled, already announced shows that night from Justice (at the Palladium) and the double-bill featuring Marilyn Mason and Rob Zombie (at Verizon).
