Check Out Erykah Badu & Janelle Monae's Just-Released Music Video For Q.U.E.E.N.

Spin called it “a self-empowering soul-funk workout.” Buzzfeed preemptively named it “the song of the summer.” The Observer called it “bonkers.”

And, yes, the new collaborative track from like-minded, spaced-out, neo-soul royals Janelle Monae and Dallas' own Erykah Badu — “Q.U.E.E.N.” the first single to be released off of Monae's sophomore LP effort, The Electric Lady — is all of that.

It's also so, so much more — including a nod from one powerful female soul performer to another, with the latter not only serving as perhaps the former's biggest influence, but as one of her earliest and most vocal supporters, having taken her out on one of her first national tours and all.

What's the female equivalent of a bromance? Whatever that is, this song is the clear result one of those.

And the below, just-released video for the song only seems to further confirm that much. Turn your speakers up, get into a twerk-ready stance and hit play to jam this sucker out.
