Talking Jurassic World and Why A Decent Sequel Sometimes Takes 20 Years.

Welcome to TC's Movie Podcast, which is pretty much what it sounds like. Wanna talk movies? Hey, so does TC! So listen up. And if you like what you hear, head here to subscribe to TC's Movie Podcast on iTunes. Or just make a note in your phone calendars to check back in with us each Friday to hear a new episode. Either way, really. Find the archives here.

Straight up, the chance to talk about Jurassic World is part of why I even started this podcast in the first place. So, yeah, for me at least, this is easily one of the most anticipated episodes that this podcast is likely to do all year.

Even cooler? For the first time in the podcast “regular season,” Justin Bell joins the conversation. Good thing, too: He's a borderline obsessive fan of JP1, and always a good dude to have a chat with.

Also? Spoiler alert: Of course we liked this latest installment. For my money, it's the first Jurassic Park sequel made by people who actually understood what made the original as good of a movie as it was. It's clear too, I think, that the creators have watched as many action movies as you and I have. And, yes, that's a good thing.

Together, Justin and I talk about that, as well the cool ways those perspectives show themselves in this film. Playing with tropes to make something more refreshing is always a cool trick when you can pull it off.

Which leads me to this question: Did we pull off an enjoyable Jurassic World discussion in this podcast? I think so, but you'll have to listen in to hear for yourself.
