Let's get this out of the way from the jump: Joy is not a masterpiece. The degree to which that is true is something that returning guest co-host Ryan Maffei and I differ on somewhat. But this much we're clear on: The latest collaboration from superfriends David O. Russell and Jennifer Lawrence is definitely not a great movie.
Still, it's a movie about something — ambition — that's always interesting to talk about.
To that end, I wanted to have this chat with my childhood pal Ryan because he's someone who's of a similar bent to me. Since we were kids, we both thought of ourselves as people who hoped to make an above-average impact on the world. We talk about that here, along with lots of other things.
Listen in to hear about our delusions of grandeur!
