Do you enjoy exhaustive technical examinations of cinematic time travel mechanics? Boy, are you in for a treat!
On to co-host with me this this time around is a podcast-listener-turned-friend Garett Jost, a guy who's establish himself as something of a Terminator franchise spokesperson in my eyes. I can't even tell you how many times I've heard him stump for these films over the years. In other words: He's the perfect guest to bring in for a chat on the latest installment in the series, Terminator Genisys.
Perhaps as expected, the first part of our discussion is spent on the plot and movie itself. But then we get down to the fun of how this movie changes our understanding of how these movies propose that time travel might work. There's some loose strings in there — and you can bet that we tug on those.
Also, I hate to have to be the one to break this to everyone, but if something like what goes down in the Terminator world were ever to happen to ours, we'd all be toast.
On that note, happy listening!
