Armand's Got Self-Respect.
Name: Armand Capanna
Age: 33.
Found: Barnes & Noble – Prestonwood Center.
Occupation: “I own my own business, a consulting executive recruiting firm for the sports recreation and fitness industry in Chicago. I also do a lot of writing and performance work on the side for myself personally.”
You're from Chicago? What brings you to this Barnes & Noble? “I'm here to get out of my hotel room.”
And how do you feel about the Chicago weather that you've brought with you to Dallas? “It's beautiful for December. I've never been to Texas, period. This is my very first time. Two inches of ice shut down the entire city — and it's strange being from Chicago. But I understand that Dallas is not equipped to deal with this weather.”
What are you wearing today? “A Calvin Klein raincoat, a Zahra jacket, a sweater from Polo, H&M pants, Calvin Klein shoes and a scarf from Nordstrom racks. So a big mix-match.”
Describe your sense of style. “Well, for people my age, they say I am very conservative dressing, which I don't really agree with. 'Put-together' is how I would call it.”
What would you say is your fashion inspiration? “The 1920s, when everyone was out in public, dressed with self-respect, and everyone realized that people were still looking at you, so you put on your best.”
