Surveying The Scene At The Dallas Sci-Fi Expo

A sci-fi expo is a slightly different beast than a comic book convention. It's basically an all-purpose gathering of fans across all sub-genres of sci-fi — the kind of place you go if you're in need of a perfectly accurate replica Battlestar Gallactica badge for your jacket or if you want to get your Teen Wolf poster autographed by the guy who played Teen Wolf's dad.

The Dallas Sci-Fi Expo in particular happens to also be a great spot to just wander around and take in some very different cultures than you're used to, while meeting some cool artists showcasing original art, buying some DVDs of your favorite childhood cartoon and figuring out what the heck a Mandalorian is.

Also, the people-watching is pretty incredible, as you can see in the pics we snapped while checking it out for ourselves.
