Toadies Release NSFW Music Video, Announce Initial Dia de Los Toadies Bill.
Hey, remember that new Toadies EP we told you about way back when? Turns out it's not happening. The band's recording sessions for the EP proved so successful that the band decided to turn it into a full-length release. Now the album, still called Play.Rock.Music. will earn its release through Dallas' own Kirtland Records on July 31 — right smack dab in the middle of the band's co-headlining tour with Helmet, which kicks off in July, about a month after the Toadies play the Palladium Ballroom here in town.
That Helmet tour will lead the band pretty much right up to the fifth annual Dia de Los Toadies event on August 31 and September 1 at New Braunfels' WhiteWater Amphitheater, which, it was announced today will not only feature the Toadies and Helmet but also Mariachi El Bronx, Riverboat Gamblers, Brutal Juice, The King Bucks, 16 Deluxe and Soldier Thread, with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
Long story short? It should be a big summer for the venerable rock act.
And they're kicking things off pretty right, too, with their just-released, definitely not safe for work and hilariously odd music video for Play.Rock.Music.'s appropriately named lead single, “Summer of the Strange.” It's a great watch, especially if you ever wanted to see a bunch of the Toadies angrily mouth the word “motherfucker.” Check it out below.
