Junior Sits For Sophisticated Treats (Or Ice Cream).
Each week, we're teaming up with our friends at The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas (SPCA of Texas) to showcase a different animal that's in need of a loving home. We'll check out the animal, learn about its personality, do a short “interview,” take some cute pictures, and report back to you on our findings. If any of the animals shown are to your liking, remember: They need a loving home free from abuse, and you could be that person to help.
This week, we met up with Junior, a very obedient 1-year-old pitbull that's currently up for adoption at the Dallas chapter of the SPCA of Texas (2400 Lone Star Drive, 214-742-7722). He's neutered, up-to date with current vaccines and is certified in certain dog commands (tell him to sit, and he'll, like, totally do it).
You're a healthy looking boy, Junior. How much do you weigh?
That hardly seems like information you would ask from a random stranger, but if you must know, I'm approximately 60 pounds.
I suppose we'll skip to more polite questions, then. What are some activities that you enjoy?
Perfecting my commands is a constant joy of mine. I suppose I also enjoy a nice game of lacrosse every now and then. Oh, and fetch.
Is there anything you just cannot live without?
Poise and politeness. But I do have a weakness for ice cream.
Really? Do you have a favorite ice cream flavor?
French vanilla and cinnamon! Preferably with a treat on top.
Could you maybe sum up your personality in a short phrase for our readers?
Patient and obedient — like any good dog.
