Cosmo Looks Like Garfield!
Each week, we team up with our friends at The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas (SPCA of Texas) to showcase a different animal that's in need of a loving home. We'll check out the animal, learn about its personality, do a short “interview,” take some cute pictures and report back to you on our findings. If any of the animals shown are to your liking, remember: They need a loving home free from abuse. And you could be that person to help. This week, we met up with Cosmo, a mid-length-haired redcoat cat. He's currently up for adoption at the SPCA of Texas (2400 Lone Star Drive; 214-742-7722).
Your name is Cosmo? I'm shocked your owners didn't name you Garfield, frankly.
It's funny that you should mention that, actually. I'm a professional stunt double for Garfield.
Wait, the actual Garfield? Like, the animated cat from the comic strips?
Yes. Anytime Garfield is in a potentially dangerous panel, I step in for him. Frying pan in the face? I'm there to take the hit. Dogs barking and about to bite? I step in.
That sounds unnecessary for a comic, but I will admit that the resemblance is uncanny.
Unnecessary? We couldn't have anything happen to him! We'd lose our leader!
Leader? Like, there's some secret cat government or something?
I can make no comments at this time.
Alright, we're going to wrap this up before it gets weirder. Could you maybe describe yourself in a few brief words for potential adopters?
Fluffy. And unique, even if I look like our fearless leader.
