S3nsi Molly And Lil Brook Are Keeping It Quite Literal With The Title Of Their New Single, Because They’re Slaying On It.
Welcome to Song of the Day, where we hip you to all the new local releases you should be caring about. By highlighting one new North Texas-sprung tune every week day, our hope is that you’ll find something new to love about the rich and abundant DFW music scene five days a week.
Song of the Day: S3nsi Molly & Lil Brook — “Dead Man Walking”
RIYL: Iconic duos.
What else you should know: Frequent collaborators S3nsi Molly and Lil Brook just dropped a video for their latest single “Dead Man Walking” off their Dumb S**t: The Album LP.
After picking up heat with 2018’s DumbShit EP, signing to Def Jam and a nod from Lil Yachty, the Dallas natives are proving to be an unstoppable team — “Dead Man Walking” is only fueling the fire.
Driven by a heavy bass and their seamlessly switch-hitting verses, the duo’s chemistry on the song and its accompanying video feels more overt than ever before, both musically and visually.
The video (directed by Dance Dailey), finds the pair outfitted in Rugrats T-shirts with a shared pink cowgirl hat, passing a blunt at what looks to be a sleepover full of the baddest girls you follow on Instagram.
We hardly needed the video to give us another reason to stan, though. With a bouncy beat and head-nodding hook, “Dead Man Walking” is already an instant replay.
And in a moment when all ears are pressed to the pulse of Texas with the runaway success of Megan Thee Stallion, one listen through “Dead Man Walking” or even just a glance at social media, and it seems indisputable that S3nsi Molly and Lil Brook are up next.
