Anamanaguchi Hates Serious Pizza.
On Wednesday night, eight-bit punk band Anamanaguchi played awesome show at Dada. That much is clear.
What isn't so clear is what went so, so wrong when the band stopped by Serious Pizza the set, causing the band to go on a Twitter and Vine rant of fairly epic proportions to express their dissatisfaction.
The whole rant started, innocuously enough, with this tweet:
when its not productive to yell about someone fucking up but its all you want to do— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
More specific vitriol would soon follow:
If you live in Dallas and eat at Serious Pizza you're better off eating garbage. Total shit made by fucking pricks.— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
What in the world could have happened to stir such anger? Well…
@porterrobinson so this spot was recommended, went there, pizza looked aight but added cheese was like school cafeteria tier and the staff— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
@porterrobinson was being really rude to the one cool guy that worked there. Later saw Ary with a slice that looked good so I went back and— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
@porterrobinson lights were on, they said they were closed and told me to “get out”. Saw a slice sitting there, asked to buy it and the dude— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
@porterrobinson charged at me with a broom and said “fuck you get the FUCK out” then I told him his pizza sucks and left.— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
The band was not pleased. So they decided to call out the restaurant directly. First with this tweet:
@SeriousPizzaTX your employees are rude as shit and the pizza you sell is trash. Fuck you too.— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
And, finally, this lovely vine:
Shout out to serious pizza https://t.co/SudMq60md7— 「Anamanaguchi〠(@anamanaguchi) July 18, 2013
So there you have it: Though they sure can put on one hell of a show, Anamanaguchi just can't get along with one of Deep Ellum's more popular late-night food spots.
Oh, and for the record: We reached out to Serious Pizza for comment, but no one there knew anything about the incident(s). That said, none of the employees on hand at the time of our call were working on Wednesday night, either.
