We're Screening The Drop and Going Especially Bonkers With a Screening of The Guest.
We like movies.
Do you like movies? Perfect, then, as this post is for you. Really, the whole point of it is to announce that we're hosting a couple of super cool film screenings in the coming weeks. And, basically, you're gonna wanna be at them.
First up, let's talk about The Guest. One of the critic darlings at this year's Sundance Film Festival and the latest effort form the makers of the solid whodunit horror film, You're Next, The Guest stars Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as David, a mysterious soldier who shows up on a family's doorstep, informing them that was a good friend of their son, who died in a war. He's got no place to go, so they take him in. Only, shortly after they welcome him in their home, shit gets bonkers.
Now here's the part you need to know: At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, at the Angelika in Dallas, we are sponsoring and hosting an advance screening of the film. And this is the awesome part: Director Adam Wingard, writer Simon Barrett and star Stevens will be in attendance for a Q&A moderated by yours truly, too.
Want to come? There are two ways you can do that. First, you can register for two free passes here (use the code CTRACKUHK3). These passes will get you in, supposing you're at the theater before it reaches capacity. As with all screenings, this one is first-come, first-served. So make sure to show up early if you go this route. Don't like leaving things to chance? OK, well, this is a little more boss: We're also giving away 10 reserved seats to this screening, and you can enter for a chance to win those by heading over here.
Now, onto the other event I promised: We're also sponsoring a screening of the tough guy movie The Drop starring Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) and the late, great James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) on Tuesday, September 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Angelika in Dallas.
If you want passes to this one, head here, where you can register to attend and print out your pass, which you'll need to bring with you to get into the screening itself. Same rule first-come, first-served rules apply.
Good luck, y'all! We'll see you at the movies!
