Just-Released Details For The 13th Annual White Rock Lake Festival.
Downtown's Klyde Warren Park opened just this past weekend and, already, the folks over in East Dallas at White Rock Lake are like, “Yo, dawg, don't forget about us, OK?”
Today, the park announced the details of the 13th Annual White Rock Lake Festival, which will take place on Saturday, November 10, and Sunday, November 11. And they brought in some big guns to help them figure these details out: Michael Schoder and the folks at the Granada Theater.
That much, plus the prevalence of food trucks throughout Dallas these days, make this year's theme of “Tunes & Trucks” kind of a no-brainer. Ten food trucks (Ssahm Korean Tacos, Crazy Fish, The Lab Food Truck, Doughboys Pizza Truck, CNJ Catering, The Butcher's Son, Gandolfo's, Four Season's Food Truck, Chili Pepper Grill and CupCakin) will be present at the affair. So, too, will nine fairly prominent Dallas bands (see full list and schedule below), a petting zoo, face painting, a pet adoption center and other arts and crafts events for kids.
Speaking of kids: If they're under five years old, they'll get into this affair held near Boy Scout Hill for free. The $5 entry charged to everyone else will go toward park maintenance, which is about as solid a cause as an event like this can support.
So, I dunno, maybe do your part for some OG Dallas greenspace later this month, y'all. Cool? Cool.
