Ranking Our 25 Favorite On-Air Personalities at The Ticket.
Welcome to Ranked, where we take a long, hard look at oddly specific things pertaining to Dallas and tell you the order in which you should care about them.
As our own Amanda Cobra once wrote: “In the Dallas area, the legend surrounding KTCK 1310-AM The Ticket looms large. On-air meltdowns, on-field arrests and audio drops about knowing a man with a fake head — they’re all part of the strangely lovable and in-joke-intensive package that’s become the backbone to the station’s role as a bona fide regional powerhouse.”
It’s true: Over the past two-plus decades, the little Ticket has become not just our own favorite radio station in town, but that of lots of other folks in North Texas (and worldwide, thanks to the station’s internet stream), too.
So what’s led to the ratings powerhouse’s success? Well, other than a healthy dose of fart drops, E-Brakes and a willingness to habitually stray from the station’s “All Sports, All the Time” mantra, it’s got to be embarrassment of riches that The Ticket boasts in regards to its on-air talent.
Here, we’ve opted to rank the whole lot of them. Because that’s something we do. Without any further ado, here are our favorite regular Ticket personalities, listed very much in particular order — at least so far as their on-air personas go.
