The Newest On-Air Host At Sportsradio 1310-AM/96.7-FM The Ticket Talks About His Promotion, What It’s Like To Do Sports Talk Without Sports And More.
The latest installment of our ongoing Quarantine Q&A series on Instagram Live features Jake Kemp in the guest role. It’s a bit of a switch-’em-up, too, as Kemp’s become fairly accustomed to sitting in the host seat over the last few months.
In the wake of Dallas radio legend Mike Rhyner’s retirement from Sportsradio 1310-AM/96.7-FM The Ticket — a station he helped launch — earlier this year, the station shuffled up its host deck some but perhaps most notably promoted longtime producer Kemp into the mid-day show’s co-host position alongside Dan McDowell.
Over the course of our chat — before technical issues got the best of us at the end, anyway — we discuss Kemp’s promotion, as well as (among other topics) how the station is balancing its content these days given a lack of sports to be discussed amid an onslaught of COVID-19 news.
It’s yet another insightful entry into the series, I’d say. Hit play on the below embed to take it all in.
