Scenes From And Thoughts On The 2015 Pin Show at The Bomb Factory.
Over 20 independent fashion designers showcased their work at new Deep Ellum venue The Bomb Factory on Saturday night for this year's The Pin Show.
And, true to form for this annual affair, thus year's crop of designers — the majority of which call Dallas-Fort Worth home, although The Pin Show too opens its arms to out-of-town designers who also are vigilantly local, wherever their hometown may be — did not disappoint. Not in the slightest.
This year's designs were straight-up good. From pieces of jewelry to after-Labor-Day-worthy white dresses and more, this show really had it all on display — and then some. Even some of our favorite men's underwear designers — namely Marek + Richard and thrIII — showed us that they've got more than just undies on the mind. More than just menswear, too.
Basically: The designers all really stepped up their game for this one.
Still, the designs weren't all that made us fall in love with this year's show. It was the complete experience. The upbeat, electronic music, provided by Zhora, -topic and others proved perfectly fitting for the night's vibe. Meanwhile, the dancing entertainers wearing neon wigs were a super nice touch. Oh, and that giant LED board? Love.
Such pomp and circumstance was perhaps to be expected. Earlier in the week, Pin Show co-founder Julie McCollough told the Dallas Observer that the event is meant to be “a two-hour party with fashion.”
And it was certainly that. Still, the fashion was worth celebrating on its own.
The above white dresses from Kae and Jae? YES. Even after Labor Day, please. They were probably our favorite pieces of the night.
And how cute are these swimsuits from Elle Luxx? Super cute.
We weren't too fond of some of the pairings from The Style Conscious, we'll admit, but that floral gym bag pictured on the left from the same team? Dig it. On the right, meanwhile, you can see our favorite look from EcoArmoire.
Oh, and this green dress from Ana Pesqueira? Way lovely.
How about these above pieces, too? They're all from thrIII, save the left image in the first, which comes from Beaus + Ribbons.
Below, check out more of our favorite looks from the night, which, if you're anything like us, will have you excited about next year's show already.
