Take Your Besties To Market.

Welcome to Perfect Date Night, a weekly feature that acts as your spirit guide for going on a perfect date in what is objectively Texas’ best city, Dallas. Each week, we’ll give you a night’s worth of suggestions for a date night in a specific neighborhood, complete with recommendations for bars, restaurants, concerts, art shows, sporting events or, well, anything, really. Just make sure you include an emoji or two when you text your crush to invite them out.

Date Details.
Duration: 3 hours.
Number of Stops: Two.

Because I’m a big believer in getting some quality time with your girls (or guys), this week’s PDN is a day date with your platonic, same-sex friends. Get your last-minute Christmas shopping in, grab some lunch and enjoy a day out free of the (probably actually very wonderful) proverbial ball and chain.

Stop No. 1: Dallasites 101 Holiday Market (604 Fort Worth Avenue, Dallas). Our first stop is a holiday market hosted by Dallasites 101, two local bloggers that are about all things Dallas. They’ve curated this event to feature different local artisans, musicians, food and drink; e.g. the perfect place to head for a shopping trip with friends. After all, North Park doesn’t offer free boozy popsicles and the chance to meet Catherine Lowe from The Bachelor.

Stop No. 2: Chicken Scratch at The Foundry (2303 Pittman St. Dallas). After you’ve bought a million cute presents, head next door to Chicken Scratch to collectively break your diets with some of my favorite fried chicken and green chile mac ‘n’ cheese. Bonus points as being attached to a bar means you can also grab a killer drink or three as you gossip the afternoon away.
