New Plano Spot Henry's Tavern Is Offering Penny Beers All Week.
Henry's Tavern, a national brewpub with locations already in operation in Seattle and Portland, just opened its third overall location and first-ever North Texas one this week over at the Shops at Legacy in Plano. The bar and grill features a from-scratch kitchen and over a hundred beers on tap.
Sounds pretty cool, right? Like a place worth checking out?
Well, this opening week at least, you've got an even better reason to head Henry's Tavern's way: All week long, every single draft beer offered at Henry's in Plano cost just a single penny.
That's every draft, during all hours of the bar's operations, for just one red cent.
As you might imagine, the TABC isn't exactly thrilled about the promotion, which kicked off just yesterday and runs through Sunday.
“[Selling beers for a penny] is frowned upon,” Henry's manager James Faller tells us this afternoon. “But we've taken several weeks of precautions.”
Those precautions, according to Faller, include coordinating with all supervising authorities — the TABC, the Plano Police Department and even The Shops at Legacy itself — to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
So, if you want to get in on all the cheap beer fun, feel free. Just head north — and be prepared for a crowd.
“The first day was a huge success,” Faller says. “The place was packed from open to close.”
