It Was A Big Party At Bryan Street Tavern Saturday.
To celebrate their anniversary, Bryan Street Tavern threw a huge free show on Saturday. And, thanks to local talent buying agency Parade of Flesh, the venue booked a ton of really awesome bands to keep the party going all day and night.
The acts included a great mix of local and national acts. Turbo Fruits from Nashville had a standout set even though it was riddled with technical difficulties. They kept the crowd entertained during a mic outage by playing guitar with their teeth and jamming until the sound blackout was corrected. Those Darlins, White Mystery and Fungi Girls were also fantastic. (It was an especially nice touch having the local boys in Fungi Girls close out the night of shows.)
The crowd wasn't too bad for most of the day. But it definitely picked up as the night went on. A lot of people were probably lost to the Index Festival, but a lot of the sets had great, enthusiastic crowds nonetheless.
Plus, it would've been tough to beat Bryan Street. The drinks were cheap, the food was great and, for a free bill, it was really stacked. We look forward to seeing to seeing if next year's five-year anniversary offering can even come close to topping it.
