For His Next Trick, The Epic Party Guy Is Planning On Renting Out Six Flags.
Looks like North Texas' most notorious man-child is at it again.
After successfully raising more than $70,000 to throw an “epic” party with Vanilla Ice, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a whole bunch of other '90s one-hit wonders, Rockwall resident Jared Guynes has yet another epic, crowd-funded event in the works.
For his next trick, Guynes plans on channeling his inner Richie Rich and renting out Six Flags “the only place in North Texas that has the best and most amazing roller coasters” for a private party.
Here's the thing: In order to go off, Guynes has to convince 7,000 North Texans to pledge between $25 and $45 for a ticket to his “Epic Theme Park Party” before the July 11 deadline on his current campaign.
But while the allure of a discounted admission to Six Flags is there, Guynes still faces an uphill climb. He's earned just more than 500 of the required 7,000 pledges he needs to make his Cartmanland-style dreams come true. As Texas Monthly was quick to point out earlier this week: Much of that slow response can probably be attributed to the fact that Guynes plans on holding his “private” theme park party on Sunday, November 16, a typically slow period for the park anyway.
There's also the fact that his last attempt at throwing an epic party failed to earn even enough dough to shut down the Thunderbird Roller Rink in Plano for a private Ninja Turtles skate party.
That said, Guynes has managed to surprise us before. Which is something.
But those looking for discount Six Flags tickets should probably go ahead and save a couple of Dr. Pepper cans just the same.
