A Dirk Nowitzki Bobblehead Is Headed to Outer Space.

Dirk Nowitzki is an amazing human. Last month, we found out that he dances to the “Cupid Shuffle.” Today we learn that he's headed to outer space.

Well, kinda. At 3 p.m. today, via a weather balloon, the Mavericks are sending a Dirk Nowitzki bobblehead into outer space for no apparent reason except for the fact that it seems like an awesome thing to do before the NBA season kicks off on October 30.

Yeah, it's a little weird. Even Dirk thinks so: In the video that follows, he pretty much says outright that he's not a fan of space. When asked his thoughts on the Mavs' plans to potentially send him (and not a bobblehead representation of him) into space, he's rather incredulous: “Take Delonte,” he says, throwing his teammate, guard Delonte West, under the bench/into a place where no one can hear him scream.
