Wait. You Can Get Whataburger Delivered To Your House?

Welcome to Out In These Streets, wherein we pound the regional pavement to get the average Dallasite's perspective on the most interesting happenings in town.

OK, so let's be real: All these stories about this or that fast food restaurant chain introducing home delivery to their offerings — they're all kind of bunk.

It's not these big companies that are doing the delivery, per se; rather, it's small, third-party food-delivery apps like DoorDash that are doing the dirty work here, running “test runs” that are, at worst, decent publicity plays and, at best, actual honest-to-goodness expansion explorations.

So, yeah, we're probably all suckers for getting hyped up like we did last week when news of a DoorDash-backed Whataburger home-delivery option dropped.

But, on the other hand, HONEY BUTTER CHICKEN BISCUITS!

Or so the sentiment was when we hit the streets this past weekend to ask people their thoughts on the news. Check it out. — Kalan Briggs
