Chopping It Up With The Costume-Clad Revelers of the 2015 Oak Lawn Halloween Block Party.

Welcome to Out In These Streets, wherein we pound the regional pavement to get the average Dallasite's perspective on the most interesting happenings in town.

It's been a violent couple of months in Dallas' traditional gay epicenter of Oak Lawn, but with an increased police presence in place, the costume-clad revelers of the annual Oak Lawn Halloween Block Party weren't going to let a bump in the road get in their good-time way. Rather, they seemed determined to fight fear with fear — or at least with scary costumes.

Well, OK, so maybe not every dressed-up person we spoke with on Saturday night was wearing a get-up you'd describe as frightening. But, in the face of rain, these partiers spirit was still uniformly impressive and strong.

Y'know, there's a reason this party's become such a staple over the years, folks. It's probably the best Halloween bash the city has to offer.

How so? Well, let's just say that the below clip should go a long way toward explaining that.
