We Went To Opening Night at the 2015 State Fair of Texas.

Our love for the State Fair of Texas here at CTHQ runs pretty deep.
For one thing, we're forever carrying a torch for Big Tex — and not just because we dig his cowboy fashion sense, either. We like how, when he gets knocked down, he gets back up. We like how he gets better with age. We like everything he stands for, really. (We're also way into discussing conspiracy theories on why he really went up in flames in 2012.)
And then there's the food — the crazy, way over-the-top, obnoxiously bad for you food. We'd eat it year-round if we could, our waistlines be damned.
So, naturally, when the State Fair of Texas opened up its gates to the public one again this year, we headed on down to Fair Park to talk to the fairgoers about their experiences. Because, y'know, that's what we do.
