After Five Years Of Renovations, Reunion Tower Will Re-Open Its Observation Deck In October.
While it's been long known that Reunion Tower would open its long-closed observation deck sometime this fall, we'd yet to hear an exact date from Hunt Realty Investments' Woodbine Development Corporation.
Earlier today, however, we received the first press release announcing the renovated deck's hard-opening date, which will go down on the morning of Saturday, October 5.
It's been five long years since the observation deck initially closed its doors for renovations. But, in that time, the newly-redubbed GeO-Deck — a play on the tower's famous “geodesic sphere” shape — has undergone a full makeover that includes high-definition zoom cameras and an interactive digital-touch screen display that the tower's managers say will “enable visitors to see and engage with Dallas in new ways.”
“We are thrilled to reopen this beloved Dallas attraction,” says Chris Kleinert, chairman and CEO of Hunt Realty Investments, Inc. in the press release. “For many people around the world, Reunion Tower has become the icon of Dallas. October 5 will mark the beginning of an exciting new era in Reunion Tower's already celebrated history.”
Tickets to see the new, “bigger and brighter” observation deck will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning on October 1 at this site.
